  • BAR EXAM, FIRST TIME BAR EXAM, GENERAL, RE-EXAMINATION, TRANSFER UBE SCORE

The Tennessee Supreme Court previously announced it will first administer the NextGen Uniform Bar Examination (“NextGen UBE”) in July 2027, and until that time, will continue to administer the current version of the Uniform Bar Examination, known as the Legacy Uniform Bar Examination (“Legacy UBE”). Further, the Court announced that, in recognition of the importance of a score portability, transferred NextGen UBE scores will be accepted beginning with the July 2026 administration while continuing to accept unexpired Legacy UBE scores earned on administrations of the Legacy UBE through February 2028. At that time, the Court reserved the announcement of the minimum passing standard.

Today, the Court announced that the NextGen UBE passing standard for licensing and admission in Tennessee is 620. Licensing in Tennessee is governed by Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 7. For more information on the process for transferring Legacy UBE or NextGen UBE scores, please visit www.tnble.org.
